Actively Positioned for Rising US Interest Rates

stockgainsWhat Michael Hasenstab and the Templeton Global Bond Fund are doing to position for rising rates.

The Templeton Global Bond Fund represents the Foreign Fixed Income asset class for the Buy/Hold Plus portfolio, and is actively positioning in three main areas to account for rising US rates.

  1. Negative exposure to US Treasuries;
  2. Long US dollar against short euro and long US dollar against short Japanese yen; and
  3. Select currencies and local-bond exposures in specific emerging markets.

The Beneficiary Designation Review:
An Opportunity to Serve

Beneficiary designations, if done incorrectly, can cauase significant problems for clients and prospects. Mistakes can be as costly as flaws in wills or trusts and can arise either at inceptoin or after the policy in put in force. Fortunately, in most cases, mistakes can be easily avoided or remedied. In this session, we will discuss actual court cases where judges were asked to decide how to resolve ambiguities related to beneficiary situations. The cases present important lessons for life insurance professionals. Furthermore, the discussion underlines the importance of doing a beneficiary review with clients and prospects.

Choose from two available dates: April 16th and April 21st.

OBA Change of Procedure

Effective immediately, Thomas P Hyland will be approving all new and updates to Outside Business Activities. Please continue to submit OBA forms through the proper channels to your manager, but keep in mind this new step may result in additional queries from TFS Compliance or Tom himself.

Representatives should also take note that this new approval process may cause delays in approvals. Representatives should use good judgment when it comes to the timeliness of OBA submissions. All Outside Business Activities must be approved prior to engaging in the OBA. Failure to fully comply with this policy will result in immediate and swift disciplinary action.

Please direct any questions regarding this new procedure to myself or your designated Compliance Liaison.
